GameUpdate (gameupdate.org, the "Service") is operated by PIXEL GOBLIN LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17201045) with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom. You can verify these details at Companies House. In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean PIXEL GOBLIN LTD, and "you" means the person using the Service. By creating an account or buying a membership you agree to these Terms.
GameUpdate is a digital notification service for gamers. We follow publicly available information about video games, such as developer and publisher announcements, patch notes and news posts, and present it as short, easy-to-read updates about game updates, releases, maintenance and other relevant gaming news. Members choose the games they follow and receive these updates by email. GameUpdate does not require an app: alerts arrive in the email inbox you already use, on any device.
The games we cover, the sources we check and the features of the Service may change over time. We may add, change, pause or remove features, or stop covering a game, for example when a source is no longer available.
Updates are based on information that third parties have made public. Summaries condense the original announcement and link back to it; they are not a complete copy of it and do not add our own opinions. Because we depend on third-party sources, updates may occasionally be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate, a source may change or withdraw an announcement, and an event such as a maintenance window may not happen as announced. Always check the linked original announcement before relying on an update for anything important. We are not responsible for the content of third-party announcements or websites.
GameUpdate is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any game publisher, developer, storefront or platform. Game names, logos and images belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify the games we cover and the source of each update. If you are a rights holder and have a concern about how your content is referenced, please contact us.
You need an account to receive alerts. You must give us accurate details, including a working email address, and keep your sign-in credentials private. Your account is personal and may not be shared, resold or used to redistribute alerts. You must be old enough to agree to these Terms where you live, and memberships must be purchased by an adult or with the permission of a parent or guardian.
GameUpdate is offered as a paid membership. Every plan includes the same features and is billed in US dollars (USD) in advance:
Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout depending on where you live, and your bank may charge currency conversion fees. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the same interval, and your payment method will be charged the then-current price until you cancel. If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you by email before the change applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and may pause alerts until payment succeeds.
Some existing members may have joined on earlier plans or through earlier payment providers. Those memberships continue on the terms shown when they were purchased until they end or are cancelled.
You can cancel at any time from the billing page in your dashboard, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refund eligibility, including any statutory cancellation rights you may have as a consumer in the UK or EU, is described in our Refund Policy.
By following games you ask us to send you alerts about them. You can change the games you follow and the kinds of updates you receive at any time, and unsubscribe from alert emails using the link in each email. We will still send essential messages about your account, security and billing, such as receipts and renewal reminders, while you have an account.
You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to: copy, scrape, republish, resell or commercially redistribute alerts or summaries; access the Service by automated means beyond the public API and its documented limits; interfere with security controls or try to access non-public areas; or use the Service in a way that could harm us, other members or third parties. We may restrict or remove any use that we reasonably believe breaks these rules or creates legal, operational or safety concerns.
Some memberships also include additional features, such as the monthly AI drop and member game servers. These features are provided as part of the Service under these Terms and may change or be discontinued. Game licenses are not included and must be purchased separately from their publishers.
Members can share a personal referral link from their dashboard. When someone who joined through your link pays for a membership, you earn 20% of each paid membership invoice, excluding tax, for as long as they stay subscribed. Commissions are calculated on the amount actually paid after discounts and credits, in US dollars.
We may change or end the referral program at any time. Commissions already earned under the previous rules will still be paid once they clear the hold, unless they were earned in breach of these Terms. Members who joined the earlier referral program keep the rewards already recorded under it.
We may suspend or close accounts for breaches of these Terms, fraud, chargeback abuse or activity that creates legal or operational concerns. Where practical we will tell you why and give you a way to contact support. You can close your account at any time by contacting us; cancelling your membership does not delete your account.
We aim to deliver alerts promptly but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, that every update will be detected, or that alerts will arrive at a particular time. The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by missed, late or inaccurate alerts or by third-party content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post changes on this page and, for material changes, tell you by email before they take effect. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts.
